As Director of Media Planning and Strategy your main task is to build a team of strategists that can translate raw audience data into insights, and insights into effective media plans and measurement approaches that can drive real world results like sales. You’ll own your decisions and work in tandem with our analysts, account managers and traders during the entire lifecycle of the campaign and look to dig deeper into what makes our client’s customers tick.
You should be someone who is passionate about telling exciting stories about business opportunities and taking complex data and analytics and converting it into digestible and actionable go to market plans. This role requires drive and a sense of accountability because the day-to-day working environment is remote. You must enjoy the fast-paced startup environment and have a desire to learn and grow as a professional.
What you'll be doing:
- Reporting into the Head of Client Services, managing a growing team of Strategists
- Collaborate with our Analytics and Sales teams to perform first-party audience audits via our platform and translate findings into an audience segmentation and targeting approach.
- Convert that approach into an integrated media plan that connects the client to their ideal prospects at important moments in the purchase journey.
- Ensure that the media channels, overall plan and chosen measurement products can satisfy the client’s acquisition and branding objectives. Provide projections and estimate results whenever possible.
- Identify, prepare and present media and targeting opportunities that go beyond the brief and ground your recommendations in data trends and insights.
- Work with Account Management and Trading to adjust and optimize your strategies based on real-time results.
- Work with Account Management, Analytics and Trading to build quarterly audience and performance deep dives (QBRs) that uncover the successes and failures of our campaign approach and provide concrete recommendations for optimizations with projected results.
- Be prepared to present and defend your strategies both via video conference meetings and in-person meetings.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and respectful partner relationships by demonstrating your ability to be responsible, reliable, and resourceful.
We are looking for applicants that have:
- 5+ years’ experience in digital advertising
- 3+ years’ experience in digital media planning and campaign measurement
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of core audience data and digital attribution concepts like segmentation and attribution
- Bonus if you have a demonstrable understanding of Multi-touch Attribution, Media Mix Modelling, and Incrementality Measurement - and how they can be used in combination in a post-cookie world.
- Experience building client pitch decks with market research to win new business
- Client service oriented. Strong learning agility, with a passion for continuous development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts in simple terms.
- Highly developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail accuracy.
- Proactive approach to problem solving, assisting the team, self-development, etc.
- Ability to develop and foster relationships with partners and the Clue team.
